| Session Synopsis | 1. Background The Global Training Hub for Biomanufacturing (GTH-B), established by the WHO in 2022 and operated by the Republic of Korea, supports vaccine manufacturing in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Through its Global Bio Campus (GBC) and network campuses, GTH-B trains over 1,000 people annually, offering education, hands-on training, consulting, and online learning. In May 2024, the Global Training Hub for Biomanufacturing Support Foundation (GTH-BSF) was established. 2. Contents The goal is to bridge the vaccine access gap and prepare for future pandemics by creating a sustainable, self-reinforcing ecosystem for bio workforce development. The side event will focus on strategies for sustainable workforce ecosystems, sharing successful training cases, and exploring cooperation with governments and international organizations like WHO and ADB. |
